Three Day Weekend, we hope everyone has a wonderful extra day off! 

Announcements:
  • It's PICTURE DAY time, school packets went home a week ago, pictures will be taken 10/15 8:30-10:30am. 
  • We have had some donations made for our school to help support Middle School electives, Holiday food baskets for families, and for our student celebrations. We want to give some much gratitude to these donors that wish to remain anonymous, without you we couldn't have the full experience for our students that we hope for. 
  •  STEAM program sign up forms are going home today! Please bring them back by Monday 10/13, it will be first come, first serve for our 35 slots. If you are interested in volunteering with this program please reach out to the office, we would love to have you! 


  • Friday 10/17 will be DORENA NIGHT at the CGHS home football game! All students will get to attend for free! Let's show our Panther pride supporting our Lions! 
  • PANORAMA Survey:
    • Your opinion is one of our most important tools! We are asking all parents and guardians to complete the Panorama Family-School Relationships Survey to help us improve our school environment and better support your child's success. 
    • This short, confidential survey asks for your honest feedback on important topics like school climate, communication, and how well our school meets your child's needs.

    • Your responses are compiled with other families' feedback to give our staff data on what we're doing well and where we need to focus our efforts. This data drives our planning for the remainder of the school year to ensure every student is supported.

  • We are looking for pumpkin donations for our Dorena students for 10/31, if anyone has a lead on about 120 pumpkins that could be donated to our school, we would greatly appreciate it! 

Sports!  
We love for Dorena students to have the opportunity to play sports in our community. We try to place Dorena kids on the same teams, so if your student is signing up for basketball please notify our office so we can pass that information along. 

Elementary
South Valley Athletics has begun registration for basketball! Registration closes 11/03/25
- 5 years- 2nd grade will attend camp one day a week.
- 3rd-5th grade will be placed on teams with practice twice a week and games on Saturday.
- There is a paper registration and ONLINE 
South Valley Athletics has begun registration for Cheerleading 
- K-5th grade with practices twice a week and cheering at games on Saturdays. See Link

Middle School 
Lincoln Middle School invites our middle school students to participate in Winter sports. If we have enough students sign up we will work on getting transportation to LMS each day, so please notify our office if you student is signed up to participate.

  October 3rd, 2025 It's October ! I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of the important work you do every single day as parents. We see our students working hard to show up every day ready to learn, and we know that dedication and hard work starts at home. Thank you for cultivating that environment for your children. I am grateful for all of our families and guardians, for the space we hold for one another, and for the deep conversations we can have as a community to better support our children and our families. Thank you for your commitment and trust. Announcements: Swimming starts this week for 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grades! Students will swim for 2 weeks. The school will help track swim gear and towels while they are here at school and will dry the equipment each day.  We have our bi-annual WALK AND ROLL to school event on Wednesday, 8/8. Weekly Newsletter 9/5/25

  September 5th, 2025 What a great start to the new school year! Our classrooms are buzzing with energy, full of excited students ready to learn and achieve amazing things. We're so glad to have everyone back. These first few weeks have been focused on setting a strong foundation for success. We're busy assessing students' skills, teaching and reviewing school expectations, and practicing our daily routines. This groundwork ensures we can all have a smooth and productive year. Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for our Open House. It was wonderful to see so many of you connect with teachers and other families.
