  January 30th, 2026 We were so glad to see so many kids back at school this week after bouts of sickness! We had a lot to celebrate at the end of the month with Attendance, Self Managers, Student Leaders, and being safe, respectful, and responsible all month long!  We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Announcements: We are starting our Emerald baseball reading challenge! Every student has been given a bookmark with 10 spaces on it, teacher's have specified how each space should be filled, rather it is reading 10 pages, 20 minutes, etc. When the bookmark is filled up students will turn them in in exchange for 2 free Emerald baseball tickets!  We have received a couple of grants to help start a music program here at Dorena for the remainder of the year. We are looking for someone who has experience with guitars, handbells, and/or recorders!   January 16th, 2026 What a week! We know many of our families are currently juggling tissues and thermometers. Taking care of sick kiddos is exhausting work, so please make sure you’re taking care of yourselves, too. We truly appreciate families keeping us updated on symptoms and diagnoses. Thank you also to those reaching out for homework. We love seeing the commitment to keeping the learning going, even from home! Our priority is getting everyone back to 100%. We hope you get plenty of rest and fluids this weekend. We can’t wait to see our healthy, energized students back in the classroom next week! January 16th, 2026 Happy 3 Day weekend everyone! We hope everyone takes some time to rest and get well, lots of sick kiddos this week.  Announcements: We are starting our Emerald baseball reading challenge! Mr. Dunham is supporting students with all of their emotional and social needs!  We have our second Donuts and Dodgeball event coming up! Student who have been demonstrating and/or working hard to improve their emotion regulation skills and social skills have earned the privilege of participating.  We have been seeing a lot of toys coming to school, we are asking the help of our guardians to help ensure that toys stay home.   January 9th, 2026 Welcome back! I hope you and your kiddos had a wonderful break and feel refreshed. We are thrilled to have our students back in the building, and we are ready to dive straight into a productive and rigorous term. Focusing on Growth This week, we are revisiting our daily routines and classroom expectations. Our goal is to create a structured environment where every minute is dedicated to high-level learning. When our school habits are strong, our students can focus entirely on the "hard work" of growing their minds.   December 12th, 2025 As we enter this final week before the Winter Break, we want to share our excitement and remind everyone that every school day is a learning day ! Our teachers have engaging activities planned, and we encourage all students to be present and on time, right up until the start of the break, don't want to miss out on any of the fun!  Announcements: We start our Holiday store this week, each student will have the opportunity to use their hard earned Panther Pride tickets to purchase one item for each of the family members who live in their household as a holiday gift.  Spirit week is next week! We invite all students to join staff in dressing up, the class with the highest participation will earn our Spirit Week trophy to proudly display in their classroom and bonus points towards our pizza party!  Monday: Snowman or Grinch Day Tuesday: Hat or Beanie Day Wednesday: Flannel Day Thursday: Ugly or Not Sweater Day Friday: Pajama Day  Our attendance...

  December 5th, 2025 We have just 10 school days remaining until the Winter Break, and we are dedicated to making every one count! As we wrap up the semester, your students will be working incredibly hard. Our classrooms will be focused on maximizing growth in reading, writing, and math , ensuring students are well-prepared as we approach the end of the year. While the final weeks can be exciting, we know they can also feel busy. We encourage you to help your child finish strong by maintaining consistent routines and emphasizing daily attendance. We will end this successful semester with some well-deserved celebrations, including our exciting Attendance Challenge and Pizza Party during the last week! Thank you for your continued partnership.   November 21st, 2025 We have a short week next week! We hope everyone has a wonderful winter break!  Announcements: We are gearing up for our Holiday Student Store, every year students save up their Panther Pride tickets to exchange for gifts for their family members for the holidays. We are looking for new or gently used items to add to our store. We are also in need of paper or gift bags. Thank you!  We have our family conferences on Monday and Tuesday, this is an opportunity for teachers to connect to families about how their student is doing academically, behaviorally, and socially. This is the time to celebrate growth and to talk about concerns. Data that will be reviewed are reading, math, writing, behavior, attendance, and social emotional.  We are working on food support for our families. Our plan is to have food and essential items available for families to pick up what they need after the conference during Family Conferences on 11/24 and 11/25. If you are ...
