Thank you to all of our families for joining us for family conferences! 


Announcements:

  • We received a grant from the Cottage Grove Rotary club to implement a week of music! 4/27-5/1 our K-8th classes with receive 4 days of music lessons and a performance with each class on Friday 5/1. We invite families to come us in the gym! See times below.

  • K/1- 1:10-1:40pm

                       2nd/3rd -11:30-12:15pm 

                        4th/5th 12:15-1:00pm 

                        MS 1:40-2:25pm 

  • We have been invited to CGHS for a Career Field day on 4/30. We will bus down to the high school where our students will get to see different businesses and programs in our community and at the High school. 
  • We have gotten a lot of complaints regarding snack packs making a mess on the bus home, please help us remind kids to keep snack packs sealed up tight until they get home. 
  • We will start health and nutrition lessons this upcoming week, all students who have completed and returned opt-out forms will be exempt ONLY from lessons regarding sexual health and human development.
  • We invite you join us for DORENA NIGHT at the Emerald's baseball game, all students who completed the Reading challenge were sent home with their free baseball tickets this week. 
  • It is the last couple days of our electronic challenge please bring in your broken or discard electronics for our contest.

  Dear Parents, Guardians, and students of Dorena School,                                                 8-15-2025      It is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to your first or to another wonderful year at Dorena School. I hope that you had a wonderful summer and are feeling eager and excited to start the 2025-2026 school year! We feel very honored that you have chosen us or continue to choose us as your school. Weekly Newsletter 9/5/25

  September 5th, 2025 What a great start to the new school year! Our classrooms are buzzing with energy, full of excited students ready to learn and achieve amazing things. We're so glad to have everyone back. These first few weeks have been focused on setting a strong foundation for success. We're busy assessing students' skills, teaching and reviewing school expectations, and practicing our daily routines. This groundwork ensures we can all have a smooth and productive year. Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for our Open House. It was wonderful to see so many of you connect with teachers and other families. Your support makes a huge difference, and we're looking forward to an incredible year of learning and growth together!   October 3rd, 2025 It's October ! I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of the important work you do every single day as parents. We see our students working hard to show up every day ready to learn, and we know that dedication and hard work starts at home. Thank you for cultivating that environment for your children. I am grateful for all of our families and guardians, for the space we hold for one another, and for the deep conversations we can have as a community to better support our children and our families. Thank you for your commitment and trust. Announcements: Swimming starts this week for 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grades! Students will swim for 2 weeks. The school will help track swim gear and towels while they are here at school and will dry the equipment each day.  We have our bi-annual WALK AND ROLL to school event on Wednesday, 8/8.
