We had a full week despite a short week after spring break. Getting back into the routine (especially the bed time routine) and practices of school! After spring break can be fast and furious as the year starts to wind down, academics continue to ramp up and so does the fun! 

Announcements:

  • We have a FULL day of school this Wednesday 4/8/26, NO EARLY RELEASE, NO STEAM CLUB. 

  • HUGE Shoutout the the Bentson family and Ollie for painting and planting our Dorena Planter in front of the school! It looks great! 

  • We invite our families to come help us celebrate our work as a school. We have earned an award for our high levels of academic achievement, collaborative culture, and focus on learning. This award will be presented at the School Board meeting 4/6 at 5:30pm. If you or your student would like to have an opportunity to speak at the board meeting to share your positive experience just let us know so that we can plan for it. Thanks!

  • Check this out! In all of Oregon we are one of 4 with an award!


  • For our 8th grade families! We will visit Cottage Grove High School on 4/8 to get an immersive experience of what to expect in high school next year! There is also a parent night that evening to get more information!

  • We have upped the reward for our next attendance challenge which will include March and April. The class with the most points by April 26th will earn a pool party down at the Waren H. Daugherty Aquatic Center! Each class can earn a point for only having one student absent and/or one student tardy. Classes can also earn a bonus point for having the best attendance in the school each day. 

  • We have 6 more spots for our 4th-8th graders to participate in our afterschool Theater program, if your student is interested they must sign up by April 10th. 
  • Garden Club will be starting 4/14! 

  • 4/6-4/10 Character Trait: Organization and Time Management

Weekly Newsletter 9/5/25

  September 5th, 2025 What a great start to the new school year! Our classrooms are buzzing with energy, full of excited students ready to learn and achieve amazing things. We're so glad to have everyone back. These first few weeks have been focused on setting a strong foundation for success. We're busy assessing students' skills, teaching and reviewing school expectations, and practicing our daily routines. This groundwork ensures we can all have a smooth and productive year. Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for our Open House. It was wonderful to see so many of you connect with teachers and other families.   October 3rd, 2025 It's October ! I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of the important work you do every single day as parents. We see our students working hard to show up every day ready to learn, and we know that dedication and hard work starts at home. Thank you for cultivating that environment for your children. I am grateful for all of our families and guardians, for the space we hold for one another, and for the deep conversations we can have as a community to better support our children and our families. Thank you for your commitment and trust. Announcements: Swimming starts this week for 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grades! Students will swim for 2 weeks. The school will help track swim gear and towels while they are here at school and will dry the equipment each day.  We have our bi-annual WALK AND ROLL to school event on Wednesday, 8/8.
