Have a wonderful 3 day weekend, everyone we will see you on Tuesday for only 3 more weeks of school!  

Announcements:
  • Read-a-Thon Minutes and Funds are Due as of now we have read 4,281 minutes and raised $1346! 
  • 8th graders need to dress to impress Tuesday for 8th grade photos for 8th grade promotion! 
  • We will be celebrating all of our classes success on the MAP assessment for the Spring, each student can earn points for their class for best effort and points in growth on our MAP assessment. The classes that reach their goal will earn attendance at the Slip-n-Slide party! We will announce classes who are qualified by Tuesday so that all students are prepared for the party on Thursday. Students will need swim clothes, and a towel to participate.
  • Last Day of Spring Garden club is Thursday. Summer Garden Club details below:
  • It is finally time! All Middle School students who have worked tirelessly to earn the campout will stay at school on Thursday for our 5th annual campout. More details will be sent home to those families next week.
  • We will welcome 4 senior graduates back to Dorena, their original stomping ground, to do our annual Grad Walk 10:45am.
  • We will have our end-of-year awards assembly Friday at 1:30pm, data has been analyzed and students have been nominated. We invite parents and families to join. We will conclude our assembly with the results of our read-a-thon and a game for the winning class.

  Dear Parents, Guardians, and students of Dorena School,                                                 8-15-2025      It is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to your first or to another wonderful year at Dorena School. Weekly Newsletter 9/5/25

  September 5th, 2025 What a great start to the new school year! Our classrooms are buzzing with energy, full of excited students ready to learn and achieve amazing things. We're so glad to have everyone back. These first few weeks have been focused on setting a strong foundation for success. We're busy assessing students' skills, teaching and reviewing school expectations, and practicing our daily routines. This groundwork ensures we can all have a smooth and productive year. Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for our Open House. It was wonderful to see so many of you connect with teachers and other families.   October 3rd, 2025 It's October ! I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of the important work you do every single day as parents. We see our students working hard to show up every day ready to learn, and we know that dedication and hard work starts at home. Thank you for cultivating that environment for your children. I am grateful for all of our families and guardians, for the space we hold for one another, and for the deep conversations we can have as a community to better support our children and our families. Thank you for your commitment and trust. Announcements: Swimming starts this week for 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grades! Students will swim for 2 weeks. The school will help track swim gear and towels while they are here at school and will dry the equipment each day.  We have our bi-annual WALK AND ROLL to school event on Wednesday, 8/8.
