Weekly Newsletter 5/4/26
May 4th, 2026
We are already in the month of May! We have only about 6 weeks remaining and it is going to go fast! We have lots of assessments to get through, lots of learning, and so we also have lots of fun planned to celebrate our students for their hard work!
We want to thank all of our certified teachers for all of their tremendous hard work for kids! This is teacher appreciation week!
It's MAY testing month! We have State Assessments, District Wide assessments, and benchmarking assessments. Lots of work for our students so that we can see how much growth they have made! Please help us with this testing by ensuring kids get to bed early and are at school everyday so that they can do their best and show what they know.
Energy drinks are not allowed to be consumed by students at school. If a student brings an energy drink to school we will ask that student to put it away and if it has been opened the student will be asked to throw it away. Please see our Policy here:
ENERGY DRINKS ARE PROHIBITED ON CAMPUS. Students may not bring, consume, or
sell energy drinks (such as Red Bull, Monster, Celsius, Rockstar, etc.) anywhere on school grounds
or at school sponsored functions, including the cafeteria, classrooms, or on the bus. We encourage students
- We have started our last attendance challenge for the month of MAY! ALL students who have 90% or better attendance for the month of May will earn a movie party! Each classroom will be playing a different movie and have snacks. Students with 90% or better attendance will be eligible to see any movie they would like.
- Read-a-Thon! Our only school fundraiser has begun. Students are to log their reading minutes and we ask that they find sponsors to fund their reading achievements as a fundraiser for the school. All funds go to fun for our students with our attendance challenges, field day, field trips, and more. The class that reads the most minutes will earn the chance to participate in a school game. One student from each class that read the most minutes AND raised the most funds will also get to participate, even if their class did not win.
- We have started our new character trait of the month: Goal Setting, we are encouraging all students to set a goal and creating a plan to achieve that goal for the remainder of the school year. We will be looking for this behavior and highlighting it in our Good News Referrals.
- We have gotten a lot of complaints regarding snack packs making a mess on the bus home, please help us remind kids to keep snack packs sealed up tight until they get home.
