  May 2nd, 2025 It’s hard to believe it’s already May! We’ve entered the final stretch of the school year, a time filled with reflection, preparation, and celebration. This month, we’ll focus on ensuring our students are ready for their next grade level while taking time to honor the incredible growth they’ve achieved throughout the year.   April 25th, 2025 A heartfelt thank you to all who attended our parent-teacher conferences! It was truly inspiring to see our Middle School students leading their own conferences with confidence and reflection. Likewise, our 4th and 5th graders did an amazing job sharing their goals and progress with their people. Your partnership in this journey is invaluable, as growth happens best when we work together to support our students. Thank you for being such an integral part of their success! As we look ahead, we hope everyone enjoys the upcoming three-day weekend. It's hard to believe May is just around the corner!   April 18th, 2025 It was a sunny fun fun-filled week! Thank you to Mrs. Beck for planning such a fun event and for all of our volunteers for going above and beyond to support us and our students! I can follow directions the first time. I can take care of all our school spaces and materials.   It is time for our annual fundraiser! Each year we raise funds to boost the extracurriculars available to our students such as art, music, theater, etc. We are having a Read-A-Thon to raise money this year! Our Read-A-Thon officially starts Monday 4/14/25, forms are coming home in Friday Folders. The Read-a-Thon ends May 9th with forms and funds due the week of May 12th. This year the class with the most read minutes will earn an ice cream sundae...

  April 11th, 2025 This week was a special week as we had the opportunity to share our Dorena Proud message with three different groups, CGHS, Chamber Music Amici, and Marcola Elementary.  Each group couldn’t stop commenting on the incredible feel of our school and how amazing it truly is. This pride we feel comes from the strong partnership between our staff, students, and families. It’s heartwarming to see our kids embody the values of Dorena Proud every day—values rooted in the care and support they receive both at school and at home.   April 4th, 2025 We hit the ground running this week with a mix of learning and fun! Our Attendance Challenge winners celebrated with a trip to Defy Trampoline Park, our 8th graders got a sneak peek at high school during their visit, and classrooms were buzzing with focused learning. We’re now in the “fast forward” part of the school year—State Testing is coming up, we’re diving deep into essential learning to make sure every student is ready for the next grade, and we’ve got tons of celebrations and activities coming up. Thanks for your continued support, and we hope everyone has a great weekend!
