  October 25th, 2024 Happy Friday everyone! We ended our week with a super fun Fall Festival with London School. We feel so honored that they include us in such a fun event. We are so proud of our Dorena students and staff as they really embodied Dorena Pride at the event. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped, we appreciate you so much. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Announcements: PBIS Theme: Respect On November 1st we will have Dorena School Night at the Cottage Grove High School football game! Students get in for free and it is $5 for adults. If your family would REALLY like to come and needs assistance with adult tickets please let us know and we can help.   October 18th, 2024 Happy Friday everyone! You might hear us talk about being Dorena Proud, in fact it is our Mission Statement: We Are Dorena Proud. This means that we expect everyone from our school community to take pride in their education, in being safe, in being respectful, and in being responsible. This mission doesn't extend just within our building walls but in the community and at home.  We are always reiterating this with all of our students and staff, it means something to be Dorena proud.   October 10th, 2024 We hope everyone enjoys the 3 day weekend!  Announcements: PBIS Theme: Respect  PICTURE DAY is on Wednesday 10/16, so dress your best!  We will begin our Panorama Testing this week, this measures student's social emotional learning skills which are pivotal to learning. Please see more in this letter .  Our district adopted a new assessment to measure reading, writing, and science skills that will track their skills from kindergarten all the way through to to High school! It is called MAPS and we will start administering that in the upcoming weeks.  We have some big behavioral issues on the busses this week, please remind students that the rules on the bus are the same as they are at school.   October 4th, 2024 It is officially October and we have all of our students attending school on a regular full day schedule. We are really working hard on all students following our school rules of being safe, respectful, and responsible every day so that all students can learn at high levels.  Announcements: PBIS Theme: Respect  Wednesday 10/2/24 will be our Walk and/or Roll to School Day, we encourage all students to walk or roll to school that day!
