  January 30th, 2026 We were so glad to see so many kids back at school this week after bouts of sickness! We had a lot to celebrate at the end of the month with Attendance, Self Managers, Student Leaders, and being safe, respectful, and responsible all month long!  We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Announcements: We are starting our Emerald baseball reading challenge! Every student has been given a bookmark with 10 spaces on it, teacher's have specified how each space should be filled, rather it is reading 10 pages, 20 minutes, etc. When the bookmark is filled up students will turn them in in exchange for 2 free Emerald baseball tickets!  We have received a couple of grants to help start a music program here at Dorena for the remainder of the year. We are looking for someone who has experience with guitars, handbells, and/or recorders!   January 16th, 2026 What a week! We know many of our families are currently juggling tissues and thermometers. Taking care of sick kiddos is exhausting work, so please make sure you’re taking care of yourselves, too. We truly appreciate families keeping us updated on symptoms and diagnoses. Thank you also to those reaching out for homework. We love seeing the commitment to keeping the learning going, even from home! Our priority is getting everyone back to 100%. We hope you get plenty of rest and fluids this weekend. We can’t wait to see our healthy, energized students back in the classroom next week! January 16th, 2026 Happy 3 Day weekend everyone! We hope everyone takes some time to rest and get well, lots of sick kiddos this week.  Announcements: We are starting our Emerald baseball reading challenge! Mr. Dunham is supporting students with all of their emotional and social needs!  We have our second Donuts and Dodgeball event coming up!   January 9th, 2026 Welcome back! I hope you and your kiddos had a wonderful break and feel refreshed. We are thrilled to have our students back in the building, and we are ready to dive straight into a productive and rigorous term. Focusing on Growth This week, we are revisiting our daily routines and classroom expectations. Our goal is to create a structured environment where every minute is dedicated to high-level learning. When our school habits are strong, our students can focus entirely on the "hard work" of growing their minds.
